Gail Fox

Cambrensis Choir Administrator

Gail was born and lived in Cape Town, South Africa until she emigrated to the UK in 1979. She holds the degree of B.Soc Sc in Social Work from the University of Cape Town and worked as a Social Worker there and subsequently in Weymouth and Plymouth. She later worked as a Senior Teaching Assistant with GCSE pupils in a local High School.

Gail joined Cambrensis in 1998, a few years after she and her husband and family moved to Cardiff. All three of her now adult children have sung in Cambrats at various times. Singing in choirs, both as a child and adult, has always been part of Gail’s background through the influence of her mother who gave singing lessons at Cape Town’s Conservatoire of Music and trained several children’s choirs.

Gail particularly enjoys finding and reading suitable reflections, poems and readings where these are required for any of our concerts.

Gail became Secretary of the choir in 2016, working closely with Anne Brown in her role as Administrator. Since Anne’s death in 2019 Gail has taken on several more of Anne’s administrative roles.

Gail and her husband John are active members of Rhiwbina Baptist Church in Rhiwbina, Cardiff.
