Easter with Cambrensis Choir

Easter is the most important time of year for all Christians as we remember Jesus’ death to reconcile us to God through the forgiveness of sins and as we proclaim the good news of His resurrection. On 23rd March 2024, Cambrensis Choir told the Easter story through an evening of songs, hymns and narration at Bethany Baptist Church in Rhiwbina. The event was well attended and we had a memorable evening which ranged from reflecting on Jesus’ triumphant journey into Jerusalem, His suffering and crucifixion to the celebration of His glorious resurrection from death.

The programme featured classical pieces by Mozart and contemporary choral composers Bob Chilcott, Philip Stopford and Will Todd as well as modern Easter songs by Keith Getty, Stuart Townend and others. The audience and choir sang two Easter worship songs together as well as the classic Easter hymn Thine Be the Glory.

A number of our choir members gave moving solo performances. Thank you to Kath Davies, Laura Dunn, Mezz Davies, Ruth Evans, Elinor Wren, Richard Hain and Lorraine Vernon.

Thank you to Isaac Dunn, our guest soloist, who performed his own composition See His Worth and to Catherine Pickles, Elisabeth Hansford and Gail Fox for providing readings.

Special thanks go to our Musical Director, Glenda Pasley and to Graeme Hunter, our accompanist. We’re grateful to Bethany Baptist Church for kindly hosting our event.
