Christmas with Cambrensis Choir and Orchestra Dec 2022

Due to our unexpected change of circumstances with Jeff stepping down, we chose not to hold our usual Promise of Christmas in St David’s Hall but were thrilled to be able to hold a celebratory and worshipful Christmas event at Highfields Church on the 3rd December 2022.

Under the expert and encouraging direction of Kelvin Thomas along with Jonathan Davies and Graeme Hunter, the choir sang and led the 350 strong audience in joyful celebration of Emmanuel, God with us. Members of the Cambrensis Orchestra accompanied and performed so well with David Lewis at the helm as the Orchestra Leader.

We welcomed about 40 members of the St David’s Praise Choir who joined us in singing a few of the items and there were some fresh and challenging reflections read during the evening.

Tickets were free but there was a retiring collection for the work of Innovista. Kate Woods from the Innovista team showed a video and spoke movingly about their work. The audience, choirs and orchestra responded with huge generosity, raising £2051 for the work! Innovista’s purpose is to identify, equip and develop local leaders to change their communities with the hope of Jesus. We heard particularly of their work in supporting churches and training young leaders in Easter Europe, an area of such turmoil and need at this present time.

Our thanks to Highfields Church for letting us use their venue and for all their support and encouragement.
