An Evening with Stuart Townend

Categories: News.

A near capacity audience gathered at St David’s Hall, Cardiff, on Saturday 13th July for a very special concert with Stuart Townend, Cambrensis Choir and Orchestra and the St David’s Praise Choir.

The audience joined Stuart and the choirs in the singing of a number of his best known and loved songs and hymns, beautifully arranged and orchestrated by Jeff Howard and Anne Brown, including ‘In Christ Alone’, ‘How Deep the Father’s Love for Us’ and ‘The Power of the Cross.’ He also led us in some new songs.

Throughout the evening, the hymns and choir items were interspersed with items from Stuart.  These included some powerful personal songs from his most recent album ‘Courage’: ‘Keep you Here’ is an honest and moving response to his brother’s recent journey with cancer while ‘I am Here for You’ (co-written with his daughter, Emma) explores issues of mental health.  Emma joined her father on stage to sing this and other songs.  Her brother, Joseph, played the drums on several songs during the concert.
