Induction service of The Reverend Dean Roberts

Danae Marshall, Alto Section Leader, writes of this event held on Tuesday 18th February 2020.

Dean has been a keen supporter of Cambrensis for many years and so it was a privilege and joy to take part in his induction service at St. Michael’s Church, Michaelston-y-Fedw.

Dean was inducted as the Incumbant  Rector of The Benefice of Bedwas, Machen, Michaelston-y-Fedw and Rudry. It may have been cold and wet outside, but it certainly didn’t dampen the warm welcome we received and we were able to sing praises to God and lead the congregation with a full and varied mix of music.

Dean worked closely with Jeff who arranged the music and conducted from the organ and piano. Hymns, old and contemporary, classics such as Faure’s Cantique De Jean Racine and the Welsh favourite Pantyfedwen, were among the eclectic mix enjoyed by all.

We found the service very moving as Dean made his commitments to God and his Parish and as those of the Parish committed to supporting him. We wish Dean, his wife Megan, who is also a Soprano member of the choir, and their two young sons all the very best for the future and pray that God would richly bless their ministry.
